It's been quite a few years since we've seen this, but two fairly significant frosts in September, might make mowing a little easier come October. It has been an unusual growing season to be sure.
Even though we are have some cool evenings it is still 5 plus weeks before it's a good time to apply Kerb. I mention this, because there are a lot of fields that will need Kerb to control the fescue. Realizing cash flow is really tight, but if you have high yielding fields that have a fescue problem, it is something to consider.
